Jerwood has awarded a grant of £60,000 to help enable a creative residency at Studio Wayne McGregor for emerging artists pushing the boundaries of dance, movement and physical intelligence.
RESIDENT 6 will invite six artists to make Studio Wayne McGregor their home for a year, with support from the Jerwood Developing Artists Fund and Here East. With the studio building as their home, the RESIDENT 6 artists will have access to the studio’s full range of spaces for making, researching, experimenting, collaborating and sharing. Each artist will receive:
– Access to world-class studios and workspaces – £5,000 of development funding
– Support for public sharings
– Personal mentorship from Wayne McGregor
– Training in, and use of, the Studio Wayne McGregor Smart Studio comprising five remote operated cameras and a live-editing suite to livestream activity across the globe
– The extensive experience of their expert team, and wider Here East innovation community
– Access to the studio’s unparalleled national network of creative and digital partners
– Introductions into their global network of creative people, places and institutions
– Light touch support beyond the end of the residency programme
