Jerwood Foundation has awarded a grant of £25,000 to Brixton Chamber Orchestra. This support helps enable their Christmas and summer tours of housing estates in Lambeth. The funds will go toward the fees for young professional musicians.
The Brixton Chamber Orchestra provide thrilling live orchestra experiences for wide-ranging audiences in Brixton and beyond. They champion classical music, reaching new audiences in unexpected places, whilst enthusiastically performing in many varied genres. The group seeks to inspire local people of all backgrounds to engage more deeply with the arts and each other, across demographic divides.
