Winners of Jerwood Fiction Uncovered prize announced

The Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize is newly supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation and our support enables a substantial prize fund to go directly to eight writers each year, with awards of £5,000 each. This development makes the Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize one of the biggest current overall prize funds available for British writers. In a new partnership for 2014 and 2015, the Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize will work strategically with regional literature development agencies across the UK to supplement work on a national level.

The selected writers are: Ben Brooks, Lolito (Canongate); Bernardine Evaristo, Mr Loverman (Hamish Hamilton); Lesley Glaister, Little Egypt(Salt); Cynan Jones, The Dig (Granta); Gareth R Roberts, Whatever Happened to Billy Parks (TheFriday Project); Naomi Wood, Mrs. Hemingway (Picador); Gerard Woodward, Vanishing (Picador) and Evie Wyld, All the Birds Singing, (Vintage).
