Jerwood Foundation has awarded £1,000 grant to Persona Arts. This support helps fund the forthcoming production of the Flying Dutchman with performances in July 2024 in project partnership with Birmingham Choral Union, Birmingham Opera Company and the Central England Camerata. This will be a culimination of a two year project of inspiring, educating and recruiting local volunteers, community singers and young people to be part of the process in one of Wagner's most celebrated operas. 'Come & Sing' Choruses from The Flying Dutchman No.3 is the third workshop led by renowned choral conductor Colin Baines, being held on 22 July 2023 at St Anne's Church, Birmingham. Colin Baines studied music at Birmingham and Liverpool Universities, he has conducted the Birmingham Choral Union for over thirty years.
