Contemporary Arts Programme in Jerwood Gallery at Natural History Museum

Jerwood Foundation is giving an annual grant to the Natural History Museum to support three exhibitions, which will be shown in the Jerwood Gallery at the Museum.

Jerwood Foundation’s support will help the Natural History Museum to reach new audiences with this contemporary arts programme, which forms an important part of the Museum’s overall mission by engaging audiences with unique dialogues concerning our relationship with the planet.

Each artist selected for this three-year arts programme has a very different approach to how they explore the relationship between humankind and the natural world. From the deep science and data-driven projections of Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg to the beautiful, stark photography of Gregor Sailer.

The first exhibition, The Lost Rhino, curated by Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, is opening on 16 December 2022 and explores how an idea of an animal can be more powerful than the animal itself.
