Jerwood Foundation has awarded the Natural History Museum a total grant of £75,000 over three years to support programming in the Jerwood Gallery, a capital project of Jerwood Foundation within the world-renowned Museum in South Kensington, London. This increased grant builds on Jerwood Foundation’s established support; previous grants having enabled three successful exhibitions in the gallery space.
Programming in the Jerwood Gallery includes the Jerwood Contemporary Arts Programme which will resume in 2026.
In addition to the Jerwood Contemporary Arts Programme, Our Story with David Attenborough, produced by Open Planet Studios in collaboration between Sir David Attenborough, opens in the Jerwood Gallery at the Natural History Museum on 19 June 2025 and runs until January 2026.
In a first-of-its-kind offering for the institution Our Story with David Attenborough is a brand-new immersive experience which delves into the saga of our species from our earliest beginnings, as Sir David draws on a nearly century-long career as he shares his hopes for people and planet.
The experience combines stunning projections, real-world footage and full 360° immersion. Visitors will join master storyteller David Attenborough as he poignantly draws on nearly a century of experience to document the saga of our incredible species.
Located in the Museum’s Jerwood Gallery, audiences will be captivated by a combination of state-of-the-art cinematic projection technology and beautiful real-life footage of our natural world that will bring the gallery walls and floor to life.
Talking about the experience, Sir David said:

My hope is that visitors of all ages will experience our extraordinary journey at the Natural History Museum and come away feeling inspired, informed and most of all, empowered about their integral role in our world. This is our story and we can all play a significant role."
