The Holburne Museum: Assistant Curator

Jerwood Foundation has awarded the Holburne Museum a total grant of £30,000 over two years, to support a key Assistant Curator role. The Holburne was founded in 1882 with the gift of Sir William Holburne’s collection of 16th- and 17th-century Italian and Dutch paintings, silver, sculpture, furniture, porcelain and diverse objets d’art of national and international significance. Alongside their core collection the museum presents exhibitions that cover a range of historical periods and have embedded contemporary art alongside the historical to engage new audiences with themes relevant to today.

 

On the, 27 March, the Holburne Museum announced that Ben Sharp will be taking up the Assistant Curator role. Ben is a curator and researcher specialising in Modern British art and contemporary photography. This role will involve working closely with their curatorial team to develop a dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions and overseeing their historic collection of over 10,000 artefacts.

I cannot wait to engage with Holburne’s diverse visitors and contribute to the museum’s dynamic, thought-provoking exhibitions that connect the past with the present, making art accessible to a wide array of audiences.
